(d) Article 370 — Article 370 of the Constitution of India was a temporary provision which grants special autonomous status to Jammu and Kashmir. Note:- On 5th August, 2019, Government of India introduced Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganization) Bill, 2019, to repeal Article 370 (Except the first clause of Article 370) of the Constitution. Under article 370(3), there is a provision that President on recommendation of the Parliament has the power to amend or cease the implementation of Article 370, through a public notification. President of India gave his assent to Jammu and Kashmir (Reorganization) Act, 2019 on 9th August, 2019 which made Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory with a Legislative Assembly along with Union Territory status to Ladakh without a Legislative Assembly. Two Union Territories (Jammu and Kashmir 31st & Ladakh) came into existence on October, 2019.
