(c) Rishabhdev — The founder of Jainism was Rishabhdev. According to Jain tradition, here were 24 tirthankars in this religion, in which Rishabhdev was the first Tirthankara. Rishabhdev is also known as Adinath and in the later tradition he himself was called the incarnation Lord Shankar. There is mention of only two Tirthankaras Rishabhdev and Arishtanemi in Rigveda.
